Maana watu watakuwa wenye kujipenda wenyewe, wenye kupenda fedha, wenye kujisifu, wenye kiburi, wenye kutukana, wasiotii wazazi wao, wasio na shukrani, wasio safi…….. wasaliti, wakaidi, wenye kujivuna, wapendao anasa kuliko kumpenda Mungu…..”
Mtokambali.

Former Pope Benedict Resigned Because 'God Told Me to'
In his first statement to the press since stepping down from the papacy in February, 86-year-old former pope Benedict has said he left his office because God directed him to.
Benedict told an unnamed reporter he felt the conviction to step down in a "mystical experience" that "had lasted months" where "God told [him] to" retire to a private life of prayer. He also claimed that the "charisma" of current Pope Francis gave greater context to why God had led him to retire from the post.
Pope Benedict XV1 |
Benedict's comments, made several weeks ago, and which first appeared in the Catholic news agency Zenit, were his first since his abrupt resignation. The German ex-pontiff became the first head of the papacy to step down in about 600 years.
Benedict initially attributed his resignation to his waning stamina and physical wellbeing.
"My strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry," he told his cardinals in February.
His self-assessment was reiterated in the media. The Guardian reported a German journalist's assertions in a recent meeting that the former pope "was going deaf, appeared to be blind in one eye, and was emaciated and 'exhausted-looking.'"
Yet many continued to speculate that Benedict had stepped down because of shadow Vatican scandals; Benedict's butler, Paolo Gabriele, leaked his personal correspondence. The Italian press also reported on an insider pro-gay lobby within the Church.
No more information on the latter has emerged as Pope Francis' popularity has had the press gushing over his relative austerity, humility and modesty. For his part, the current pope has said that he has appreciated access to Benedict's advice.
"It's like having a grandfather – a wise grandfather – living at home," he told reporters in July.
Iran:Christian Man Jailed for Distributing Gospel of Jesus Christ
An Iranian convert from Islam to Christianity has been sentenced to a decade in prison for proselytizing, the Christian news network Agenzia Fides reports.
The man, Mohammed-Hadi “Mostafa” Bordbar, was officially charged with “crimes against state security.”
Bordbar had previously faced criminal charges for converting to Christianity. He was found guilty of “apostasy,” but was not jailed.
His latest arrest took place in December 2012. He was taken into custody following a police raid at his home, which had been used for Christian prayer meetings.
Officers found thousands of copies of the Christian Gospel, which Bordbar had been distributing in an attempt to convince others to join him in following Christianity.
The report also noted a related sentence, that of Ebrahim Firouzi, an Iranian Christian who was sentenced to one year in prison and two years of exile for “evangelization activities and distribution of Bibles… in opposition to the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Iran has a long history of arresting Christians, and targeting converts from Islam in particular. Some “Church of Iran” members have accused the state of treating them as “enemy number one.”
Christians are facing trouble in other parts of the Middle East as well. In Egypt, Coptic Christians have been targeted by violence from the Muslim Brotherhood, while in Syria, Al-Qaeda linked rebels have threatened to kill Christians who do not join the fight against President Bashar Assad.
In Iraq, Christians have been fleeing in their thousands to escape sectarian violence, which often targets Christians specifically.

Syrian Refugees 'Hungry for Message of Jesus
As the Syria civil war rages on and the U.N. investigates claims that chemical weapons might have been used in the conflict, one Christian missionary organization helping refugees has revealed that the people are hungry for the message of Christ, and urged believers to come together and help out in one of the most urgent humanitarian crises of the new millennium.
"We executed a food distribution and ministry program where we supplied food for about a two week period to 2,000 refugees, and during the event we distributed Bibles in their language and the story of Jesus booklets," Eric English, executive director of Strategic Planning for World Compassion Terry Law Ministries told The Christian Post in a phone interview on Tuesday.
Despite efforts from the U.N., the U.S. and other government bodies, there seems to be no end to the Syrian crisis, where rebels from the Free Syrian Army are fighting President Bashar al-Assad's Syrian Armed Forces, in a conflict which began in early 2011 and has claimed over 100,000 lives to date.
The civil war has led to a mass exodus of refugees, as many as 1.9 million according to reports, while another 4.2 million people in the Islamic nation have been displaced. World Compassion, a Christian ministry which heard the people's plea for help, organized relief efforts for the 150,000 Syrian refugees who are now stationed in Northern Iraq.
While the Kurdish region has tried to accommodate the large number of refugees coming over from Syria, reports say its young government is feeling overwhelmed and does not have a lot of experience dealing with such situations.
"It's a new government and new governments may not have the bureaucratic structure to deal with a situation such as this, which they have never seen before," said William Tall, the new head of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) North.
English, who recently returned from the region where he worked with refugees as well as high-ranking Kurdish government officials and leaders, shared with CP that the relief efforts are helped by a local pastor supported financially by World Compassion, as well as a team of volunteers.
"It was just amazing because the Bibles went faster than the food did. They were very hungry for the message of Jesus Christ," World Compassion's executive director said of the response the organization received.
He added that World Compassion felt called to help the refugees at a time of personal and national tragedy, and urged Christians to take interest in these matters and reach out to help in a meaningful way.
"At large, the Christian population has not responded. And so we took that as a real call to action and took it to heart on how we can work with these Syrian refugees."
English shared that World Compassion met with the American consulate to the Kurdish region and he communicated with them the need to get out the story of the Syrian crisis to America, which he says has been under-reported by the media and that the true story has not been told.
Several blog posts on the World Compassion website highlight powerful stories by refugees and survivors of the civil war who share of the many losses they have suffered and the atrocities committed by both the government loyalists and the rebel fighters. "Both sides are wearing black hats," English noted.
As for his personal experience, the executive director said that he walked away with a completely different opinion of Muslim culture than he previously had.
"What I had been taught is that all Muslims are radicalized and they hate Americans," English said. "But what I learned from being there is that the vast majority of Muslims are Muslims by birth, and they are just normal people who work normal jobs, like you and I do, and they don't hate Americans – but the radicalized minority controls the country and the environment."
"They were very open to the Gospel because they were not radicalized," he added.
Although Christian Syrians make up 10 percent of the country's population, he added that he did not encounter any at the refugee camps – largely because Christians do not feel safe declaring their faith in a situation where there are few resources to keep civil order.
World Compassion offers different ways for people to help with the crisis. Financial contribution is one option; a donation program the group started says contributions goes directly to the camps and that $25 can feed one refugee for one month, while $100 can help an entire family of four for a month.
Another important way people can help is through spreading news of the refugees' plight on the internet. "They can also be a voice on social media," English said. He encouraged internet users to send and share World Compassion's blog posts about the crisis, so that more people can become informed and come together to help with what they can.
English added that at the camps in Northern Iraq, World Compassion is working with local church pastors who reach out on an ongoing basis to foster relationships with the people, and help them facilitate house churches and Bible studies.
"The tragedy of the Syrian war has created a vast opportunity for the Gospel to be ministered in the Middle East. On a social level, we have a responsibility to respond to the crisis as Christians, and to help people who are in need," the World Compassion executive director urged.

The government of Cameroon is severely cracking down this month on Pentecostal churches, vowing to shut down nearly 100 congregations.
Paul Biya, the president of the
western African nation, says the closures are an attempt to prevent Pentecostal
pastors from conducting “criminal practices” that allegedly threaten Cameroon’s
national security. Thus far, at least 50 churches have been shuttered by government
officials, but more forced closures are on the way.
Cameroonian officials claim these
Pentecostal churches are a menace to their country’s well-being because of fake
healing attempts and other controversial spiritual activities. For instance,
the government is citing the death of a 9-year-old girl during a prayer session
last Sunday, when a Pentecostal pastor was attempting to cast out demons from
her body.
Mbu Anthony Lang, an official
with the Cameroonian government, told CNN that only 50 of the 500 Pentecostal
churches in his country are technically legal.
“We will get rid of all the
so-called Christian Pentecostal pastors who misuse the name of Jesus Christ to
fake miracles and kill citizens in their churches,” he vowed. “They have
outstretched their liberty.”
According to Operation World, 54%
of Cameroon’s 20 million residents describe themselves as Christians. 800,000
Cameroonian Christians are Pentecostals, but that number is growing at an
annual rate of approximately 7%.Though the country is technically
a secular nation, Cameroon’s constitution provides for religious freedom, and
says “freedom of religion and worship shall be guaranteed.”
Connect with Christian News
“Everyone has the right to
freedom of thought, conscience and religion,” the constitution states. “This
right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either
alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his
religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.”
Boniface Tum, a Bishop at a
Cameroonian Church of God, told CNN that the government’s crackdown on
Christian churches violates basic human rights.
“Authorizing only the Catholic,
Presbyterian, Baptist, Muslim, and a few other churches, is a strict violation
of the right to religion,” Tum said.
After his church was shut down
last week, Pastor Elie Pierre encouraged churchgoers over a loudspeaker.
“We have the right to defend
ourselves!” he exclaimed.
Following the reports of church
shut-downs, some were pleased. One commenter called the development “good
news,” and said “I hope the rest of African countries do the same. Well done
Cameroon.” Another posited, “All countries should get rid of all churches and
ban those vile books called [the] Bible, Koran, etc. Religion has no place in a
civilized world.”
However, Theres Nchanji, leader
of another Cameroonian church that the government recently shut down, explained
that all countries need Christian churches.
“No state can do without a Church
and the Bible says whosoever calls the name of the Lord Jesus will be saved,”
she said, according to Voice of America. “The Bible says that our weapons are
not carnal—they are spiritual. When the devil attacked Jesus in the wilderness,
Jesus said it is written, he never picked a stone to face the devil.”
Mahakama yaombwa inajisi Kanisa.
Washtakiwa wanaopaswa kufika mahakamani
Mwanasheria mashuhuri nchini Kenya Bw. Dola Indidis |
adhabu aliyokuwa akiendelea kupewa tangu alipokamatwa vilikiuka kabisa sheria
Kisha
mwanasheria huyo akahoji; mlalamikaji itabidi aihakikishie mahakama
kimaslahi binafsi, Yesu akijua kosa hilo alimkemea: “….Nenda nyuma yangu,
Shetani; u kikwazo kwangu; maana huyawazi yaliyo ya Mungu, bali ya wanadamu.” Mathayo 16:23
kumhukumu, kumuua, Yohana 10:18-28.
Nne: Yesu Kristo aliwatangazia msamaha wote
waliomtendea mabaya, kumsulubisha na hata kumuua. Ni msamaha bila masharti
yoyote Luka 23:34
Tano: Kanuni za Philosophy of Influence yaani
wokovu, 1Wakorinthoi 6:1-12.”
Hata hivyo, mwanatheolojia huyo aliongeza
mazungumzo bali Neno lazima litimie.”
