TBN Founder Dr. Paul Crouch |
Trinity Broadcasting Network broadcasted an announcement that its founder Paul Crouch Sr., age 79, had been hospitalized for a heart problem.
On its Facebook page, TBN posted:
Please join us in praying for Dr. Paul Crouch, who is currently in the hospital. Prayers for complete healing and quick recovery in Jesus name.
Crouch was hospitalized in 2011 for congestive heart failure. During that time Matthew Crouch, son of the network founders, took a picture of his mother Jan Crouch holding a letter showing that Matthew would be the next president of TBN.
Michael Koper, husband of Brittany Koper the former TBN CFO and granddaughter of the Crouches, filed a declaration in court stating:
Apparently, Matthew Crouch and Jan Crouch were celebrating what they believed was Paul Crouch Sr.’s impending death and Matthew Crouch’s promotion to President of TBN that would subsequently occur.
Dr. Paul Crouch, founder and president of the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), was taken to a Dallas area hospital on October 22 due to shortness of breath and breathing difficulties he experienced while at TBN’s Colleyville, Texas facility. Over the last decade, Dr. Crouch has been treated for a chronic heart condition and last year he received a pacemaker. He is resting comfortably while his doctors address his health needs and as he continues his recovery in the hospital.
Everyone associated with TBN, and especially Jan and the Crouch family, want to express their deep and sincere appreciation for the countless prayers and expressions of support and encouragement offered by TBN’s many friends and partners all over the world. At times like this we are reminded that God is truly manifest through love, and the love and kindness so many have expressed has been a great blessing. Thank you, and may God bless each one of you.
TBN broadcasts programs hosted by a diverse group of ministries from traditional Protestant and Catholic denominations, Interdenominational and Full Gospel churches, non profit charities, As of 2010, Paul Crouch is TBN’s President and Chairman, Jan Crouch is its vice-president and Director of Programming, and their son Matthew Crouch is Vice President.
The Trinity Broadcasting Network was co-founded by Paul Crouch, Jan Crouch, Jim Bakker and Tammy Faye Bakker in 1973 as Trinity Broadcasting Systems; the Bakkers would leave by 1975 to start their own ministry, The PTL Club. TBN began national distribution through cable television providers in 1978. The network was a member of the National Religious Broadcasters association until 1990.
